The National Police of Panama confirmed on Sunday the death of Officer Albis Espinoza, who, according to official information, was wounded by firearm impacts during a police operation in El Chorrillo, Panama City. According to the official statement, the unit was on regular service when it was attacked during operational actions. The entity reiterated that there will be no impunity and assured that it will continue to reinforce security in Panama to guarantee peace throughout the national territory. The statement emphasizes that the officer died while on duty. Likewise, the Police reported that it has intensified operations to locate those responsible for the event, classified as a criminal attack. The officer was urgently transferred to a hospital to receive specialized medical care, but died despite the efforts of the health staff. The officer received shots to the face and chest. The institution expressed its condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Espinoza, highlighting his courage, dedication, and commitment to citizen security.
