With the 2026 season on the horizon, experienced driver Solly Betesh is aiming high for what will be his return to the GT Challenge of The Americas. Betesh, a benchmark in national motorsport, will compete this season in the GT Challenge in a duo with Luis Ramírez, at the wheel of an Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II in the GTS category, the fastest in this international event that brings together the best drivers in the region. The driver, with over four decades behind the wheel, spoke this afternoon at the Autódromo Panamá with the digital outlet Harmodio Arrocha Sports about his return to the GT Challenge, the new season that kicks off this Sunday, and the new look of his powerful Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II. When asked about his plans for this new campaign, he was clear on his objective: to get the car in perfect shape to fight again on the track. "We decided to take a break to race the entire 2025 season at the Autódromo Panamá and in this way to prepare and get to know the car's performance better," explained Betesh. The renowned isthmian driver has achieved victories on both international tracks and in Panama. He has been competing for four decades, but the idea of retirement still seems very far away. "Racing is pure adrenaline, it's flying a fighter jet, nothing compares to it," he commented. "Challenges make my life interesting, overcoming them is what gives my life meaning," he stated. Betesh also spoke about the new decoration of the car for the 2026 season and showed his satisfaction with the change to a more intense red tone. "I like shine and stronger colors." "And the Auto Venta Barriga logo looks fresher," he commented. Photo EFE.
