South American Youth Games to be Held in Panama

The South American Youth Games will kick off on April 15 at Rommel Fernández Gutiérrez Stadium and conclude on April 25 at the Roberto Durán Arena. A torch relay will begin on April 1. The Games will bring together around 15 countries and over 2,000 athletes. The event's mascot is the golden frog, Anton.

Héctor Bultrón, the Games' Culture Coordinator, revealed that a torch relay will begin on April 1, though he did not specify in which part of the country it will start. “Its glow is not just color: it is the reflection of the effort, discipline, and dreams of thousands of young athletes ready to make history,” the Games' organizers state. The South American Games will bring together around 15 countries and at least 2,000 athletes. “Tiny but brave, Anton is living gold. Anton is the name of the golden frog, found in the province of Coclé, which was chosen as the mascot for the IV South American Youth Games Panama 2026.”
