This first event of the year, held at V Centenario Park in the Casco Viejo district, was celebrated specially as the Gilberto Mendoza Festival, paying tribute to his memory. The sports day featured a total of 18 fights, where young local boxing prospects demonstrated their talent to a full house of spectators. Both residents and tourists came out to support the athletes, creating an atmosphere of great enthusiasm throughout the event. The success of this activity was made possible by the significant support of the Municipality of Panama, which reaffirmed its commitment to sport and the development of new national boxing values. With this special festival in honor of Gilberto Mendoza, the calendar of events for WBA Future Champions Panama for this year was inaugurated. These events will continue to be held regularly in the coming months to continue promoting the talent of the country's future champions. According to the schedule, one event will be held per month.
