On Wednesday, the group stage of the Torneo Apertura 2026 Atevo Cup concluded, determining the teams for the playoffs. In the first match of the day, Atlético Madrid Academy and New West Academy drew 0-0. Already secured in fourth place, New West opted for a defensive approach, conserving energy for upcoming matches. Atlético, on the other hand, had no chance of climbing the group standings. In the other match, already-qualified Panama International faced Barcelona Soccer School, which was eliminated. The difference in the standings allowed Inter to overtake Academia Suárez and claim third place with a victory. Efraín Barrera's goal in the 8th minute and goalkeeper Daniel Halphen's interventions were enough to give Inter a narrow victory, achieving their objective. Both matches were held at the COS Sports Plaza in Metropark. With the regular season over, the focus shifts to the quarter-finals, which will take place this Saturday and Sunday in the sub-10, sub-12, sub-14, and sub-16 categories. In the sub-8 category, the top two teams from each group advanced directly to the semi-finals. These are the qualified teams: Sub-8: Inter, CAI, Costa del Este, and Suárez. Sub-10: Barcelona, Plaza Amador, Fénix FC, Costa del Este, CAI, Atlético, Evolution, and Suárez. Sub-12: Costa del Este, Soccer10, Barcelona, Atlético, Plaza Amador, Brunet Hay, Atlético Panamá Viejo, and Inter. Sub-14: Águilas Azules, Brunet Hay, Inter, Suárez, Plaza Amador, CAI, Panama City, and New West. Sub-16: CAI, Panama City, Barcelona, Umecit, New West, Costa del Este, Brunet Hay, and Kings. The quarter-finals for the sub-10 and sub-12 categories will be played on Saturday, while those for sub-14 and sub-16 will be on Sunday, with both days' matches at the Eagles Stadium of El Colegio de Panamá.
