The Kiwanis Football League (KFL) is warming up ahead of the start of its 2026 season and presented the teams and players who will participate in 'contact' and 'flag' during the second annual Kickoff Fest organized by the league. The event served as a meeting point for teams to receive their uniforms, rival players to get to know each other better, and to participate in various activities, including a weightlifting competition. Raúl Méndez, league president, described the activity as a success and gave a preview of the plans for this year: 'The idea is always to improve on what we did last year, creating weekly awards for players and having more presence on our platforms.' The KFL season is divided into two semesters: from April to July, the junior and varsity categories will compete in 'contact', while the mini and varsity categories will play in 'flag'. The second semester, from September to November, will be the turn of the micro and mini categories in 'contact', and micro and junior in 'flag', respectively. The league organizers took the opportunity to make an announcement: the Puerto Rico national team will visit the country on September 5th to face the 'Panama Sharks' varsity team, which will be formed by the best players of the tournament starting in April. The traditional Jamboree will take place on April 11th at the Balboa stadium. All season matches will be played at the Copa Airlines Field at the Costa del Este Sports Center, and the grand final will be played on July 11th at the Emilio Royo stadium.
