During a maritime interdiction carried out as part of Operation "Protector", the National Aeronaval Service managed to capture two Panamanian citizens and two Colombians north of Portobelo, in Colón. The individuals were traveling in a speedboat and were carrying 43 plastic bags with suspected marijuana.
According to authorities, both the detainees and the seized illicit substance have been made available to the competent authorities for the corresponding legal proceedings.
One of the statements from the authorities noted: "This operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in our territorial waters. We will continue working to maintain security and order in our maritime borders."
The prompt action of the National Aeronaval Service in this operation was key to the detention of those involved and the seizure of the suspected drug, which represents another blow to drug trafficking in the region.
