The administrator of ASEP, Zelmar Rodríguez, conducted an inspection at the Pan An thermoelectric plant, where a situation was registered that requires investigation. On the other hand, the Regional Prosecutor's Office of Colón and Guna Yala is conducting an investigation into the crime against life and personal integrity, in relation to the tragic traffic accident that recently occurred in María Chiquita, district of Portobelo. Unfortunately, this accident resulted in eight fatalities.
In statements regarding the accident, the Regional Prosecutor's Office of Colón and Guna Yala stated: "We are making progress in the investigations to clarify the facts and determine the corresponding responsibilities. It is a regrettable event that has impacted us all, and we are working to ensure that justice is served and to prevent similar tragedies in the future."
ASEP, for its part, did not issue immediate comments on the findings of the inspection at the Pan An thermoelectric plant, but it is expected that necessary measures will be taken if irregularities are found.
