A serious collision between two vehicles on Sunday night left five injured on the road towards Costa Arriba in Colón. The accident occurred on the stretch towards the María Chiquita district, in Portobelo, involving a private vehicle and a taxi. Traffic authorities will investigate the causes of the accident. From the impact, the private vehicle was left off the road, while the taxi suffered major damage. One person was trapped in the crushed bodywork, so firefighters performed extraction maneuvers. Additionally, ambulances from 911 and personnel from the Social Security Fund arrived at the scene. All the injured were transferred to the emergency room of the Policlinic Don Laurencio Jaén Ocaña, in the Sabanitas district, to receive medical attention. Tomás Luján, first sergeant of the Fire Department, reported that they assisted five adults and one infant.
