Panama - A 32-year-old man was accused of inappropriately touching and raping a 10-year-old girl in the coastal town of Portobelo, in the Costa Arriba de Colón region, for which he was reported and sought until he was found to answer for this criminal act against the minor. The inappropriate touching and carnal rape occurred in that coastal population from January 2021 to February 2022. Once the situation became known, the Municipal Personería of Portobelo coordinated his detention and took him before the judicial authorities to initiate his judicialization process. In this way, his whereabouts were found and he was taken to an initial hearing, where the precautionary measure of provisional detention was decreed for him. During the hearing, it corresponded to the Municipal Personería of Portobelo to request the Guarantees Court to formulate the imputation, a request that was admitted. Now he faces charges for the crimes of libidinous acts and aggravated rape against the minor.
