Former Major League Baseball player Severino González was in charge of cutting the inaugural ribbon for the Children's Baseball Stadium that bears his name, located in Santiago de Veraguas. A press release from Pandeportes reported that the project is part of the '12 Fields' initiative and is aimed at strengthening the development of grassroots and community baseball in the region. Miguel Ordóñez, the general director of Pandeportes, highlighted that this infrastructure meets the current needs of children's baseball and is designed to provide a safe, functional, and suitable space for the training of children and young people. He also mentioned that future improvements are planned, such as the possible installation of artificial turf near the stands, in order to reduce deterioration caused by high foot traffic and ensure the stadium's durability.
