Ten people, including seven Panamanians and three Colombians, were arrested in an operation that dismantled an illegal mining network linked to the Gulf Clan in Darién.

During the operation conducted by law enforcement agencies in the province of Daryen, an illegal gold mining operation was dismantled, resulting in the detention of 10 people. Among those detained, seven are citizens of Panama, while three are citizens of Colombia.

According to information obtained after the operation, it was established that the detained individuals were linked to the criminal group "Clan Goylfo". They were engaged in illegal gold mining in the region, which drew the attention of law enforcement agencies. Preliminary data indicates that the group members used old methods of gold extraction, causing significant damage to the surrounding environment.

One of the representatives of law enforcement agencies stated: "The operation was conducted successfully, and we will continue to fight against illegal mining of natural resources in the region. Cooperation between different countries plays an important role in the prevention of such actions."
