The Budget Commission, led by Deputy Sergio Gálvez, held a quick meeting in which transfers of funds totaling B/.91.6 million were approved for the payment of pensioners and retirees. It was considered a priority that could not wait any longer.
The Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd, explained that these funds will be allocated to the Disability, Old Age, and Death Program (IVM) of the Social Security Fund (CSS) and will help partially cover the costs of pensions for February 2025, although retirees have already begun receiving their payments this month.
On the other hand, a transfer of funds for B/.984,902.00 was approved for the Ministry of Security. The Deputy Minister of Security, Luis Felipe Icaza, indicated that these funds would be used for maintenance and repair of machinery and other equipment.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Vice President of the Commission, Ariel Vallarino, emphasized that the approval of these transfers demonstrates the National Assembly's commitment to its role and responsibility towards the population.
