The CSS Council will establish incentives to promote voluntary affiliation of self-employed workers to the Health and Maternity Insurance. This measure aims to include independent professionals in the social security system to provide them coverage in cases of illness and maternity.

According to the new regulation, self-employed and professional service workers are required to contribute to social security. This will ensure that these sectors have access to health benefits and protection during maternity.

In light of these changes, it is expected that the number of people affiliated with the CSS Health and Maternity Insurance will increase, thus expanding social protection to an important group of workers who previously did not have this benefit.

"The incorporation of independent workers and professional service providers into the social security system is an important step to ensure that all citizens have access to medical care and necessary protection in cases of illness and maternity," stated a representative of the CSS.
