An international arbitration court has issued a final ruling in favor of Panama, ordering the Spanish construction firm Sacyr to pay billions in compensation over disputes regarding the Panama Canal expansion project.


The Republic of Panama today obtained a final and favorable ruling in the international investment arbitration. 'Justice has once again been done to the Canal and to Panama,' stated then-administrator of the interoceanic route and leader of the canal expansion project, Jorge Luis Quijano, when consulted about this verdict.
