During inspections of 862 commercial establishments from January to October of this year in the Herrera province, the Regional Administration of Acodeco found 9,180 expired products and 63 cases of missing consumer-facing price labels.
During these actions, the following products were removed: sodas, cookies, snacks, gelatins, beers, yogurts, paints, veterinary products, agrochemicals, and other items for sale.
These irregularities were subject to a legal process, with sanctions ranging from a warning to a fine of up to 25 thousand balboas, depending on the severity and recurrence of the offense.
This amount reflects the institution's commitment to respecting consumer rights, as established by Law 45 of October 31, 2007.
The Acodeco of Herrera reiterates that it will continue to inspect all commercial establishments in the province and urges consumers to play an active role by filing complaints.
