The Cabinet Resolution states that to continue managing the project, it is necessary to hire a consortium through an exceptional procedure to cover Project Management (PM) services for a period of twenty-two (22) months, from June 1, 2024, to March 31, 2026, for an amount of B/.3,543,846.98.
The Panama Metro affirms that the consortium currently providing the management services has full knowledge of the project, understands the methodology of the implemented processes, has adequate resources, counts on qualified professionals, and is prepared to execute the required management services to oversee and supervise ongoing construction activities and address the pending phases of the components that have substantial acceptance to date.
This is to ensure that the company supervises the ongoing works, performs the appropriate controls and follow-ups, and verifies the closure of pending items from the Civil Works Contract. The Council of Cabinet approved today Resolution No. 136-25, authorizing the Panama Metro S.A. to hire, through an exceptional procedure, the PM Extensión Línea 1 Consortium (composed of Nippon Koei Lac, Inc., Systra, and Nippon Koei Co., Ltd.), for the “project management services, interface coordination, and technical assistance for the extension of Line 1 to Villa Zaíta-Finalization of the civil works contract and CSIF contracts”.
