Panama Government Launches Neighborhood Training Program

Panama's National government launches 'Capacítate en tu Barrio,' providing technical training to vulnerable communities to reduce social vulnerability and prevent crime. The program has benefited over 1,000 citizens across 20 districts with courses in high-demand skills.

With "Capacítate en tu Barrio," the National Government reaffirms its commitment to continue promoting programs that open doors, reduce social vulnerability, and prevent crime through education and technical training, reaching the country's neighborhoods directly.

The trainings were held in communities such as San Felipe, Curundú, Panamá Norte, Pacora, Santa Ana, Calidonia, Kuna Nega, Colón, Panamá Oeste, among others.

During the ceremony, the Vice Minister of Government, Juan Francisco Borrell, the National Director of DIPRED, Azihra Valdés, and the General Director of INADEH participated, highlighting that this training contributes to strengthening the social fabric in priority neighborhoods, providing tools for employability and sustainable income generation.

The National Directorate for the Prevention of Juvenile Delinquency (DIPRED), in alliance with the National Institute for Professional Training and Human Development (INADEH), held the graduation ceremony for the "Capacítate en tu Barrio" program this Monday. This initiative brings technical training to the country's most vulnerable communities, offering real alternatives for economic growth, labor insertion, and entrepreneurship.

In its first stage, the program has benefited over 1,000 citizens, with a presence in more than 20 districts of the provinces of Panamá, Colón, Panamá Oeste, and Chiriquí.

The courses cover areas of high labor demand, such as: eyebrow and eyelash design, air conditioning maintenance, makeup, industrial security, English, customer service, and banquet operators, among others.

The First Lady of the Republic accompanied the event and recognized the success stories of the graduates, highlighting the positive impact of these opportunities for families and community development.
