The Ministry of Housing and Land Use Planning (Miviot) announced plans to hand over the keys to new homes to approximately 2,500 low-income families throughout the current year. Minister Jaime A. Jované C. made this announcement. The housing distribution plan covers the provinces of Colón, Chiriquí, Los Santos, Panamá Oeste, and the Ngäbe Buglé comarca. The goal is to rescue this infrastructure before beginning the current administration's own projects. Among these programs, the minister highlighted the use of the preferential interest law for families of various sizes and the projects that will be managed through public tenders in conjunction with the National Mortgage Bank. As part of a recent tour of the Azuero region, the head of Miviot met with John Nearon, manager of the National Mortgage Bank branch, and Roberto Villarreal, the entity's provincial director, to coordinate regional improvement plans. It is worth noting that on January 8, the National Government, led by President José Raúl Mulino and First Lady Maricel Cohen de Mulino, delivered 150 housing solutions in Herrera, with an investment of over 3 million balboas. Regarding upcoming actions, Minister Jované C. announced that more than 75 units will be delivered in March to benefit families in the province of Los Santos, a management coordinated with the provincial director, Juan Pedro Samaniego. Regarding the housing deficit, Minister Jované C. explained that the entity has focused its initial management on organizing the institution and reactivating projects that had been delayed or abandoned for years.
