The Urban and Domestic Cleaning Authority (AAUD) has begun installing new roll-on roll-off containers in strategic locations in the San Miguelito district. These containers are being placed in the same spots where the private company that provided garbage collection services until January 18th had maintained its bins.
The objective of this measure is to guarantee safe spaces for waste disposal, preventing animals and homeless people from tearing open garbage bags and scattering waste in public areas, which is one of the main complaints from residents in the area.
According to AAUD, these actions will be carried out in all points where the private company previously operated, and other zones in the district that lacked garbage containers will also be reinforced as part of a comprehensive plan to improve solid waste collection.
The authority stated that the placement of these roll-on roll-off containers aims to improve the quality of life for citizens, maintain a clean and healthy environment, and reduce sources of contamination in San Miguelito, one of the most densely populated districts in the country.
