Panama Highlights Its Connectivity and Gastronomic Richness at ANATO 2026

Panama is strengthening its international position by participating in the ANATO 2026 tourism fair in Bogotá. This initiative aims to consolidate relationships and project the country as a sustainable and competitive destination, acting as the «host of the world in Latin America». Panama's offering at the fair combines its natural wealth, including jungles, mountains, and coastlines on both oceans, with its historical and cosmopolitan heritage. A delegation of 43 businesspeople and sector authorities is traveling to Bogotá to strengthen commercial and tourist exchange with the Colombian market. Thanks to daily flights connecting major Colombian cities with the Americas Hub, the country is consolidating itself as a close and accessible destination for the global market. Gloria De León, Panama's Minister of Tourism, highlighted that Colombia is a priority market due to geographical proximity, high air connectivity, and cultural affinity. The official delegation, led by the Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) and PROMTUR Panama, will be at Corferias from February 25 to 27 with the objective of capturing the interest of tour operators, travel agencies, and strategic partners from the South American market. The delegation is accompanied by 43 national tourism entrepreneurs who are developing an active meeting agenda to negotiate rates, structure joint campaigns, and strengthen commercial agreements. A differentiating feature of this edition is the focus on culinary identity, backed by the recognition of Panama City as the only gastronomic capital in Latin America accredited by UNESCO. To attract visitors, the Panama stand incorporates cutting-edge technology, such as a sensory tunnel and 360° virtual reality experiences. These tools allow for an immersive tour of the country's main attractions, aligning with the trends of the modern traveler who seeks authenticity and the possibility of combining culture and relaxation in a single trip.
