A 35-year-old woman was arrested in Betania, Panama, for alleged fraud. She deceived her victims into believing they were receiving a package from abroad and had to pay a tax for its release and delivery. The suspect contacted victims, impersonating a friend or relative living overseas. She requested that the money be deposited into various bank accounts. The case has been referred to the Second Prosecutor’s Office Against Property Crimes for investigation.
