Public Works Ministry intensifies road rehabilitation in Los Santos

The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) of Panama reports significant progress in the road rehabilitation plan in the province of Los Santos. Over the last week of work, more than 130 tons of hot asphalt material have been applied. The regional director of the MOP in Los Santos, Ivan Espino, stated that the work is being carried out optimally under an action plan designed for the dry season, which allows for the rotation of crews in different communities. Espino highlighted that the current climatic stability has been fundamental to speeding up the road response to the population, allowing interventions to be carried out with the required technical efficiency.

In addition to residential areas, operational personnel have been deployed to the routes that interconnect various villages. This intervention seeks to strengthen the internal connectivity of the province, facilitating commercial, productive, and artisanal activities that represent the economic engine of Los Santos. In recent days, the deployment of crews has covered strategic sectors such as Las Tablas Abajo, Valle Rico, Palmira, San Miguel, Llano Largo, La Laja, and Las Guabas. Likewise, maintenance work has been carried out on the road connecting Llano de Piedra with Macaracas, ensuring the flow of transport in these rural and semi-urban areas.

The MOP informed that it will continue with this work pace as long as weather conditions permit, prioritizing those points that show the greatest deterioration in the pavement surface and those of high relevance for the exchange of goods and services in the interior of the country.
