During the Carnival Monday, more than 145,000 vehicles have left the Panamanian capital heading towards the interior of the country. As part of the security operations implemented during this festivity, the detention of 821 people for various reasons was reported.

Among the main reasons for the detentions are the consumption of alcohol in public places, public order disturbances, and disobedience to authorities. These actions are part of the efforts by the authorities to ensure a safe and peaceful environment during the Carnival celebrations in Panama.

According to local authorities, more than 35,000 officials have been deployed across the country to ensure compliance with the rules and guarantee the safety of citizens and visitors. Additionally, police presence has been strengthened on beaches and in high-tourist areas to prevent incidents and maintain order.

"During these festivities, our main objective is to ensure the safety and well-being of the population. Therefore, we have intensified controls and are alert to any situation that may disrupt the tranquility of citizens," stated a spokesperson for the security forces.
