Panama's Ministry of the Environment announced the successful cleanup of a popular hiking trail after trees fell. Access to the Los Quetzales Trail in Volcán Barú National Park will resume on November 28.


Access to Los Quetzales Trail Restored

The Ministry of the Environment announced that, following the rapid intervention of park rangers and technical staff from the Protected Areas Section, the Los Quetzales trail has been cleared in the sections affected by the fall of six trees. The entity informed users, national and international tourists, tourism operators, and the community that, starting tomorrow, November 28, entry to the Los Quetzales trail will be permitted as normal from 5:00 AM. The Ministry stated that after the cleanup work on the trail, optimal conditions and the required safety levels are guaranteed to receive visitors. Tomorrow, the district of Boquete will host the parades for the Commemoration of Panama's Independence from Spain.
