An emergency call alerted response services about a serious workplace accident that occurred in the Los Ruices sector, behind the National Police, where the fall of an allegedly energized power pole onto several workers was reported.
Upon arriving at the scene, emergency units confirmed the incident, sadly verifying that two (2) people showed no vital signs, while three (3) workers were injured, requiring immediate medical attention at the site.
Personnel from SAMER, in coordination with the 9-1-1 Unique Emergency Management System and the National Police, provided pre-hospital assistance to the injured and secured the area to prevent new risks, due to the presence of compromised electrical infrastructure.
The corresponding authorities initiated the standard procedures for investigating the incident, reiterating the call to reinforce safety measures in jobs involving electrical risk, in order to prevent workplace accidents of this nature.
