Elderly Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run on Highway

An elderly woman was killed on the Inter-American Highway in Chiriquí province yesterday. The driver of an SUV failed to brake in time. Police and investigation services are at the scene.

An elderly woman lost her life yesterday after being run over on the Inter-American Highway, near the entrance of La Barriada Chaquira, in Concepción, Bugaba, province of Chiriquí. The incident occurred when the elderly woman was trying to cross the dangerous road and the driver of a 4x4 vehicle failed to brake in time. The Transit Police arrived quickly, but nothing could be done for her. Units of the National Directorate of Traffic Operations, Accidentology section, will investigate this traffic incident.
