Panamanian urban artist Boza has renewed his contract with Sony Music Centroamérica and El Caribe, focused on releasing new music, pursuing more international collaborations, and 'expanding' the Spanish-language 'afrobeats' genre, the record company announced Wednesday. Sony Music detailed in a press release that the Panamanian artist 'officially renewed his recording contract (...), reaffirming a strategic alliance that has been key to his artistic growth and the sustained development of his career on a global level'. This renewal also, according to Sony Music, 'reaffirms the mutual trust and long-term vision of both parties, with the commitment to continue building a global career based on consistency, authenticity, and a genuine connection with audiences'. This 'new chapter' with Sony Music 'marks the beginning of a new creative and strategic stage, focused on the release of new music, international collaborations, and an even more ambitious expansion of 'afrobeats' in Spanish, a movement of which Boza has become one of its main exponents'. He was also nominated for a Latin Grammy and the Tu Música Urbano and Premios Juventud awards, which were held for the first time in September in Panama, the artist's homeland, last year. The renewal of the alliance also comes ahead of his upcoming participation in Premio Lo Nuestro, where he is competing in the Afrobeats of the Year category for his hit 'San Blas'. The singer of hits like 'Hecha Pa Mi' and 'Orión' (alongside Venezuelan Elena Rose) accumulates 13 million monthly listeners and over 1.06 million followers on the Spotify platform, while YouTube sums up more than 1.44 billion views and 1.31 million subscribers, according to the record label. In July 2025, Boza was included in the Forbes Centroamérica 30 Under 30 list, a selection that recognizes several people under 30 from the region who are impacting different industries.
