Panama Suspends Road Work for King Momo Carnival

Panama's MOP announced temporary road work suspension for the King Momo Carnival from February 13-19, 2026, to ensure road safety during high traffic.


The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) of Panama announced the temporary suspension of work on various road projects for the King Momo Carnival celebrations. The measure aims to keep rehabilitating lanes clear and reinforce road safety due to the significant increase in vehicular traffic. The suspension will be in effect from 12:01 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, to 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026. The MOP thanks the public for their understanding and cooperation, reiterating its commitment to road safety and mobility during the festivities. The MOP will supervise that all national projects maintain the corresponding signage during this period, in accordance with current regulations, to guarantee the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
