One person died and several were injured in a serious traffic accident in the province of Veraguas, following a collision between a public transport bus and a delivery truck. The incident occurred on the Pan-American Highway, in the Los Boquerones area, when the bus traveling the Santiago–Panamá–Río de Jesús route collided with the cargo vehicle, causing an emergency scene that mobilized rescue units. Members of the Panama Fire Department went to the scene to treat the injured and carry out extraction work for some people who were trapped inside the bus after the impact. The injured were taken to nearby medical centers for treatment, while authorities began the corresponding investigations to determine the causes of the accident. The incident caused concern among drivers traveling on the Pan-American Highway, one of the country's main arteries, where traffic accidents are frequently recorded. To date, authorities have not revealed the identity of the fatal victim or the exact number of injured people.
