Firefighters locate body inside burned building

The Meritorious Fire Corps of the Republic of Panama reports that after 4:00 AM, the body of a person was located inside the premises affected by the fire in Río Abajo. This information has been confirmed at this time by Captain Roberto Méndez. At this moment, the units are continuing with the strategy of extracting gases and reheated smoke from the structure, with the aim of improving safety conditions and allowing the corresponding personnel to proceed with the extraction of the victim found at the scene. Subsequently, access will be granted to personnel from the Ministry Public and other competent authorities for the removal of the body and the initiation of investigations. At this time, firefighters remain in the area, carrying out operational duties.
