The Ministry of Culture (MiCultura) announced in a press conference the first edition of the National Short Film Competition in Panama, as part of the policies to promote the film and audiovisual industry of the Panamanian State. The competition is specially aimed at young people aged 18 to 25 with the goal of encouraging film activity in the country.
According to what was expressed during the conference, the competition seeks to promote creativity and talent in audiovisual production, providing a space for young people to develop their skills and share their stories through the short film format.
Among the most noteworthy details is the awarding of prizes, which amounts to a total of 80 thousand balboas for the winners. This initiative presents a unique opportunity for participants to showcase their work and be recognized in the national film scene.
In the words of a representative from the Ministry of Culture, "We are very excited to launch this first edition of the competition, which we hope will become a platform to promote emerging talent in the field of cinema in Panama. We want to foster creativity and give visibility to new voices seeking to make their way in the film industry."
