MIDA Conducts Health Survey in East Panama

Today, specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture and Development of the Diagnostic and Preventive Agropecuaria Institute (MIDA) traveled to the Eastern Panama region to survey domestic poultry for the presence of avian influenza and rabies in large ruminants.

The group of researchers and veterinarians visited the islands of Chépillo and Tortí, where samples were taken for further analysis. These surveys are conducted within the framework of programs to combat infections that can cause harm not only to animals but also to the population.

"Our goal is to ensure the health and safety of domestic poultry and large ruminants on all farms in this region," said the MIDA representative after the completion of the trip. "We will continue monitoring and implement all necessary measures to prevent the spread of possible outbreaks."
