The Social Security Fund (CSS) will deploy thirty ambulances equipped with cutting-edge technology at strategic points throughout the country during the Carnival festivities. Starting this Friday, these ambulances will be distributed to ensure a quick and efficient response to any emergency that may arise. These units are specially equipped to handle critical situations, in a continuous effort that will last ten days, including support for worshippers heading to Atalaya, in Veraguas.
Dr. Carlos Cerrud, head of the National Department of Emergency Management, Disasters, and Patient Transport of the CSS, emphasized the intensive preparation of the staff to face this period of high demand. Once the celebrations are over, the ambulances and personnel will immediately move to the city of Santiago to continue providing support to those heading to Atalaya. This measure is taken to ensure the health and safety of all citizens participating in this religious event.
The ambulances are equipped with medications to manage pain, nausea, dehydration, and other emergencies, allowing for quality care in various critical situations. These vehicles are part of the Green Alert implemented by the CSS for the Carnival festivities, with a team of 6,000 officials including doctors, laboratorians, nurses, radiologists, and emergency technicians available to respond to emergencies nationwide.
The CSS institution will also make 33 health facilities with emergency services available to the population across the country, including 16 hospitals and 17 polyclinics that will be operational during the Carnival holiday days. This deployment of resources and medical personnel to benefit the community will be a constant throughout the Carnival period.
