The Ministry of Health of Panama decided not to extend the addendum to the contract with the Hospital Biosecurity Consortium, aimed at the cleaning, sanitation, and disinfection service of hospitals nationwide. This measure allowed Minsa to save more than 108 thousand dollars in an exceptional procedure.
This determination was announced on Friday and affected more than 200 thousand dollars, ending a contractual relationship that lasted for 24 months. The health administration opted not to continue with the addendum that governed the provision of these services, resulting in significant savings for the entity.
According to official statements, the measure is part of a resource optimization policy and aims to ensure efficiency in the management of cleaning and disinfection services in the country's hospital centers. The non-renewal of the contract aims at a review of the contracting processes and an evaluation of the actual needs of each health institution.
