The National Aeronaval Service (Senan) reported that in the first two months of 2025, they managed to seize more than nine tons of drugs. According to Commander Luis De Gracia, approximately 78 thousand packages containing illicit substances were confiscated during the year 2024.
De Gracia emphasized that between July 1, 2024, and the first months of the following year, there has been an increase in the effectiveness of the anti-drug operations led by Senan. This achievement has been possible thanks to the coordinated work with other institutions involved in the fight against drug trafficking in Panama.
The commander underlined the importance of joint efforts in the identification and neutralization of routes used by drug traffickers for transporting drugs. He also highlighted the commitment and continuous training of Senan personnel in the fight against this scourge.
"We are focused on maintaining security in our coasts and airspace, intensifying surveillance and patrol efforts to combat illegal drug trafficking," stated De Gracia, reaffirming the institution's commitment to the protection of national sovereignty and the safety of citizens.
