Starting from April 2026, medical graduates may begin their service at the health centers of the Ministry of Health (Minsa) and the Social Security Fund (CSS) hospitals, as part of the internship phase required to obtain their medical license. Paulino Vigil De Gracia, Director of Teaching and Research at the CSS, explained that as part of the process, some prior procedures must be carried out. These include budget management, the teaching capacity for training doctors, and the distribution of the 203 graduates who must perform their internships at the hospital centers. Additionally, it must be ensured that this process does not affect the group of doctors who will enter next year, who also have the right to carry out their internship phase once they meet the established requirements. In turn, Arvin Batista, representative of the medical graduates, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the meeting and trusts that the problem will finally be resolved. This advance was the result of the second meeting held this Tuesday between representatives of the medical graduates, officials from the Minsa, the CSS, and deputies. The meetings will continue in the coming months to ensure the implementation of this plan.
