Over 7,000 Emergencies with Africanized Bees in Panama

The Fire Department of Panama has reported that a total of 7,066 emergencies related to Africanized bees have been handled nationwide. The areas with the highest number of incidents have been the provinces of Panama, Los Santos, and Panama Este, where constant operations have been carried out to control swarms and protect the population. Firefighters have intensified their control actions to prevent attacks and guarantee the safety of citizens. In these operations, the relocation of hives and swarms to safe places has been prioritized, avoiding harm to people. Safety recommendations: - Avoid approaching or throwing objects at hives or swarms, especially if they are in trees, roofs, or structures. - Do not attempt to remove them on your own. If you find a swarm, contact the nearest fire station immediately to receive proper and safe assistance. The authorities urge the population to remain calm and follow the recommendations to avoid serious incidents, as Africanized bees can be more aggressive if they feel threatened.
