No cases of whooping cough registered in Veraguas province

The Ministry of Health (MINSA) reported that to date, no cases of whooping cough have been registered in the province of Veraguas. This was confirmed by Dr. Xavier Torres, the regional director of the entity, who highlighted that although no cases have been detected in the area, preventive measures have been activated to ensure a rapid response to possible outbreaks. "The medical and administrative staff is prepared and coordinated to act immediately if any suspicious case is detected," stated Torres, who added that rapid response teams remain on constant health alert to handle any eventuality. Additionally, MINSA reported that in the Ngäbe-Buglé comarca there are 15 cases of whooping cough, as well as one death under investigation related to the disease. Authorities urge the population to stay informed and follow health recommendations to prevent the spread of this disease.
