Work is scheduled to begin at the end of November. The clinic's infrastructure is 56 years old, and due to a lack of maintenance in previous administrations, it has various aspects that require intervention, a situation that is already being addressed by the institution. On Monday, the Social Security Fund (CSS) reported that the incident at the Manuel María Valdés Polyclinic in San Miguelito was caused by the detachment of some decorative sunshades located on the building's facade. According to authorities, these elements had deteriorated over time and are not part of the main structure, so the building's integrity was not compromised. The institution confirmed that there were no injuries reported and it was not necessary to suspend the services provided to insured individuals. Likewise, the CSS recalled that the remodeling project for the polyclinic has already been awarded, which includes the removal of the damaged sunshades.
