Health authorities have reiterated their call to the population, especially the elderly, to get vaccinated against influenza, emphasizing the importance of immunization as a preventive measure against this disease.

What is Influenza? Influenza, also known as the flu, is a highly contagious viral respiratory infection that affects the respiratory tract, including the nose, throat, and lungs. Common symptoms include fever, chills, muscle aches, headache, cough, sore throat, and nasal discharge. Although most cases are mild, influenza can cause serious complications, especially in people with risk factors, such as the elderly and those with pre-existing diseases.
