The Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd, confirmed that the construction of the new Children's Hospital has reached a physical progress of 52% and 25% in equipment.

During an inspection of the project, Minister Boyd Galindo had the opportunity to closely review the progress in various key areas of the hospital, including the 14 operating rooms, some of which will be designated for newborns. He also highlighted the progress in the construction of the 108 consultation rooms, the room for burned children, the hematology-oncology area, and the area designated for physical rehabilitation.

The modern infrastructure, developed by the company Acciona Construcción, S.A., has an estimated cost of B/. 446 million and will have a capacity for 476 beds. The new hospital will offer a wide range of medical specialties, such as radiology, hematology, outpatient consultation, emergencies, laboratories, and a specialized section for the treatment of minors with cancer, in addition to having advanced imaging facilities and operating rooms.

This major project will benefit the child population with cutting-edge technology and high-quality medical services, positioning it as a benchmark in pediatric care.

For his part, Dr. Paul Gallardo, medical director of the Children's Hospital, announced that the old hospital facilities will not be demolished. Instead, they will be used as a second-level hospital, thus ensuring the continuity of medical care for children in the country.
