New Hospital in Bugaba Welcomes First Birth

On November 28, the newly inaugurated José Félix Espinosa Barros Hospital in Bugaba held its first childbirth, marking a significant milestone in the start of operations of this modern health facility. According to the Ministry of Health (Minsa), the first baby was born at 9:17 p.m., weighing 2.8 kilograms. The mother, a resident of the Bugabita community, received care from the medical staff who are already working during this initial phase of operation. The Bugaba Hospital was officially inaugurated on November 27 by President José Raúl Mulino and Minister of Health Fernando Boyd Galindo, accompanied by ministers, deputy ministers of state, directors and deputy directors of public entities, local authorities, health personnel, and residents of the district. During the first 90 days, the hospital will provide emergency care as part of its gradual opening process, reinforcing the health services available to the population of Bugaba and neighboring communities. This hospital will benefit more than 117,000 residents of the districts of Bugaba, Tierras Altas, Barú, and other regions in eastern Chiriquí.
