In Panama, Police Lieutenant Vega lost a tooth after being assaulted by a 34-year-old man. The incident occurred in the Las MaƱanitas area. Officers spotted the man drinking alcohol in a public place in his car. When they approached to address him, he got out and tried to flee. They caught up with him a few meters away, but during the struggle, he struck the lieutenant several times in the face and body with such force that he caused facial injuries and knocked out a tooth. After being subdued, the assailant was taken to the Las MaƱanitas police substation, where it was revealed that he lives in sector 14 of the same area. The injured officer was transported to the emergency room of the Irma de Lourdes Tzanetatos Hospital for medical treatment.
