Panama's Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported a national total of 14,905 dengue cases and 25 deaths, as detailed in the epidemiological report for week 47 (November 16-22, 2025). The incidence rate for this period is 326 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The report highlights that the Metropolitan Region leads with 4,588 cases, followed by the San Miguelito Region with 2,585 and Panama West with 1,584. According to Minsa, of the total cases, 13,220 are non-severe, 1,584 show warning signs, and 101 are classified as severe dengue. The provinces with the highest number of deaths are Chiriquí (5), Bocas del Toro (4), and the Metropolitan Region (3). Meanwhile, Panama East, Darién, Coclé, and San Miguelito each report two deaths. The provinces of Los Santos, Herrera, Panama West, the Ngäbe Buglé comarca, and Colón have each recorded one death. Furthermore, the figures reveal that the districts with the most cases are: Tocumen (1,026); 24 de Diciembre (899); Belisario Frías (608); Belisario Porras (549); and Ernesto Córdoba Campos with 377. The majority of cases are recorded in the age group between 10 and 49 years. Due to the high dengue rate, Minsa has intensified its operations through the vector control team to reduce the number of cases. Additionally, they are urging the population to eliminate all unused containers that can accumulate water and to continuously clean the exteriors of their homes.
