The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reports that it has provided medical care to 10,776 people in hospitals and the primary care network, mainly for emergency cases. During this period, five deaths have also been recorded. The Ministry of Health will continue to provide medical care to the population and will maintain surveillance to ensure compliance with health regulations during the carnival festivities. Inspections were carried out on 6,544 food handlers, of which 6,122 complied with health regulations, while 422 did not carry their corresponding license. Likewise, 863 tank trucks were inspected, of which 854 complied with the regulations and 9 were rejected. During this period, Minsa carried out 630 medical emergency transfers, of which 268 were by land, two by water, five by air, 270 inter-hospital transfers, and 85 pre-hospital transfers. Authorities destroyed and seized 289 products, imposed 43 fines, and issued 55 citations to various establishments. The entity attended to 907 trauma cases, 24 burn cases, 64 food poisoning cases, and 59 traffic accidents. Meanwhile, the Department of Environmental Sanitation and the National Directorate of Food Control and Veterinary Surveillance (DINACAVV) inspected 3,795 fixed and mobile stalls.
