The regional health office of the Ministry of Health in San Miguelito carried out a fumigation and rodent control operation in the El Bosque sector, in the Victoriano Lorenzo district, due to the large number of rodent burrows detected in the area. The regional director, Algis Torres, indicated that the intervention aims to strengthen public health actions and improve sanitary conditions in the community. He explained that the presence of rodents in different areas poses a health risk to residents. During the operation, the vector control team conducted inspections, placed baits, and fumigated strategic areas to reduce the proliferation of rodents and prevent diseases such as hantavirus. Torres reiterated the call for the population to cooperate with authorities by properly managing waste. He recommended depositing garbage in designated areas and setting it out during the established collection hours. Meanwhile, the representative of the Victoriano Lorenzo district, Sheyla Grajales, highlighted the importance of joint work between the community and the regional health office to keep spaces clean and free of pests and rodents.
