Three people died in various incidents recorded in the country amid high mobilization inland for Holy Week 2026, according to the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc). According to the preliminary report, one of the victims died in a traffic accident in David, Chiriquí province, while the other was recorded due to a suspected immersion in the Indio River, in Coclé. The third victim is the 70-year-old French citizen, who went missing after entering the sea in the morning of Saturday, April 4, in the district of Soná, Veraguas province, specifically in the Santa Catalina area and El Estero beach. The report details that, to date, 43,099 displacements of people have been counted, as well as the presence of 5,520 bathers on national beaches. In addition, 516 verification actions have been carried out in coastal areas, where prevention, surveillance, and aquatic rescue operations remain active. In health matters, the Ministry of Health reported 7,991 attendances, of which 567 correspond to traumas. 30 traffic accidents, six deaths in total, and 407 hospital transfers are also counted. In the security sphere, the National Police reported the verification of 579 people, the inspection of 20 vehicles and 15 businesses, as well as one apprehension. Meanwhile, the National Border Service reported 3,483 police verifications, 21,749 vehicles controlled, 23,993 people mobilized, and 10 people apprehended. The National Migration Service indicated that 82,712 entries to the country and 81,130 exits have been registered, while the National Aeronaval Service reported 122 maritime patrols and the verification of 6,898 people. Regarding emergencies, the Fire Department attended to 384 incidents, including 72 vegetation fires and 145 cases related to bee control.
