The provinces of Chiriky, Veraguas, and the autonomous region of Ngabe-Bugle remain at a red alert level due to unfavorable weather conditions. The Panama government declared a national emergency due to the continuing rains.
Intense rains continue to cause damage to these areas, leading to risks for the lives and property of local residents. Due to the worsening weather, it was decided to raise the alert level to red in the specified provinces to take essential preventive measures and ensure the safety of residents.
"We call on the population of these areas to be cautious and adhere to all directives from the safety services. National services are ready to provide all necessary assistance and support," stated the government representative.
Currently, local teams are working on assessing the damage and providing aid to those affected. Measures are also being taken to prevent possible emergency situations and minimize risks for the population.
