
Within the framework of the Firmness Plan, the National Anti-Drug Directorate (DNA) coordinated with the Public Ministry carried out a successful operation that resulted in the seizure of 329 packages of suspected illicit substance. The operation took place in the Cerro Plata area of Veraguas province, according to Deputy Commissioner Fernando Vargas, Chief of the Veraguas Police Zone.
Two individuals were arrested in connection with this crime, and during the intervention, a firearm, two suppliers, and 19 rounds of ammunition were confiscated. This action is part of the ongoing efforts of the National Police to remove illicit substances from the streets and apprehend those who break the law.
Deputy Commissioner Vargas emphasized the importance of these measures to maintain order and security in the region, as well as to combat drug trafficking. In the words of the police chief: "We continue to work tirelessly to ensure the tranquility of our citizens and prevent the entry and distribution of drugs in our country."
The operation, which was carried out in coordination with the competent authorities, highlights Panama's commitment to the fight against drug trafficking and the protection of society from this scourge.
